Hmmm... I think the solution is that Flint has "High Functioning" Autism(he's not "disabled" by Aspergers physically, but the psychological repercussions are visible, and people who don't have Aspergers are weirded out anyway, because they can't identify with Flint's odd mannerisms(all that stuff Cody mentioned in the first post)). And yes, sarcasm is usually hard for those with Aspergers(that, plus the internet, makes navigating the internet for an Aspie VERY hard. Not for me though, for some reason. :/ (Hey, *I* have Aspergers. Hopefully, I should know. Hope I'm not being too rude about it. >.<)

Hi guys, long time no see! In light of the upcoming sequel, I've just watched CwacoM for the first time in several years, and I STILL think Flint has Aspergers. ^^ I just REEEALLY hope the new producers keep his Aspie-like character in the 2nd movie (Flint, don't you ever be normal! :< )!

I think that they'll keep everything. Flint might become more aware of his own behaviors though(since he's going to be around a lot of people like him, at Live Corp). Either way, he will still be Flint!

Yes, I can just imagine him getting into those situations. It's those scenes that make you cringe.

I saw CwacoM 2, and at first, I wasn't sure whether or not the theory that Flint had Aspergers still held up, but I just saw it again, and, the more I think about it....I think Flint's become an even bigger inspiration for people with Aspergers. <: )
I'm NOT going to give away any spoilers whatsoever, but basically, Flint overcame a challenge that a lot of Aspies struggle with; realizing that his life will never be complete without close friends and family. While many of his quirks are still there, namely not knowing what's socially appropriate or not, but at the rate he's going, he'll have overcome enough of the problems with Asperger Syndrome to just have the gift part of it.
Now I just wanna give Flint a hug and say, "I'm so proud of you!" <3

YAAAAAY!! They may not have made him like an Aspie intentionally, but they're not jossing it, and that's fine with me! So. AWESOME! You go, Ral!

AND THEY ANSWERED BACK!!! www.reddit.com/user/ral365/Well, the director's answer was almost as I pictured it to myself. I suppose that in the process of creating the character they took as inspiration a bunch of talented people, copying their most prominent features of behaviour. And you can see it yourself that genial people usually behave themselves odd in the eyes of majority of people. Speaking of this, I would like to write my thoughts on the topic. Who said that it is wrong to be different? If majority of people think that you are mentally sick, is it so? Maybe it is them who are sick? Or maybe people just can be mentally different. Normality is a fiction in my opinion. They may call you mentally sick, but it is just because of their fear and lack of understanding. And if you look around you, you may notice that it is "normal" people who do a lot of stupid and awful things. Maybe you should be proud if you have the "syndrome"?

Hmm, I think I like that sort of thinking... you never know what's wrong with a person, after all, if there's anything, so why consider it "bad" in itself? In other words, I agree.

Mind you, though, Asperger's isn't a mental illness; it's a learning difference. And addressing any social issues with it, like having trouble making friends or being polite, isn't a bad thing, especially if you feel that person truly needs help (Flint is EXTREMELY lucky he didn't get arrested for breaking into someone's house during the ice cream snowball fight XP), but overall, I do agree with you. The focus on anyone who feels "a little bit different," whether or not it's from a learning difference like Asperger's, shouldn't be to focus on the weaknesses, but to instead help guide them through it in an effort to preserve their strengths and individuality.

Sorry, I was inacurrate in naming it, but I am glad that you agree with me. As for the snowball fight scene, Flint made a special present for a son of a single cop of the town, so...
