I don't really like the design for Flint's face, it's sort of weird looking.

I know two people working on this show! =D In animation, to boot!
Don't know who designed Flint, though. The two I know are in storyboarding, though; they might be able to say?

The style's not too bad! Though I am starting to wonder when this is supposed to be taking place 0_o also the voices could take some getting used to. Over all, I am pretty interested to see what it's like!

I laughed twice with the promo because they broke the space and time and made a 4th Wall reference.
I hope for real for the series not to be schizaty and only to aboard the train of money ;-; like happened with Teen Titans Go! and The Powerpuff Girls (these ruined my childhood ;-; and I know these are reboots but I know you know what I mean)

By the way, now that it's been out for awhile and is in its second season, how do y'all feel about it now? Personally, I keep giving it a chance. It does have some redeeming moments though all in all is sometimes disappointing and sometimes cringey.

I've lost track of the series as I don't live in the US and also don't have Boomerang... :'/

Ooooch, I've been watching it online. I know I should support the official release and all, but we don't even have cable! Depending on how you feel about that sort of thing, you can use kimcartoon.me.

Double post, sorry
Just came back to say that the thing I appreciate of the series is that they're using the Art book of the first movie to make some of the scenarios (I got both yay!), and that there are also hidden refferences to both of the movies :3

Yeah, I agree! I always kind of giggle when the references come up.

I watched maybe the first 4-5 episodes and while there were some moments that made me laugh (sassy garbage can, anyone?) there were others that made me...livid. I mean, on top of messing with the continuity and all, the characters are barely even themselves anymore. It’s like they took everyone’s worst qualities and amped them up. (Especially Brent...*shudder*) Also where is the COLOR??! You can’t just take a visually stunning film and use all of the LEAST visually stunning aspects of it in your spin off show. The CWACOM 2 mini movies were right there and somebody was like “Nah. Start from scratch. What if Highschool AU?” I have lots of feelings but don’t wanna sound too negative and rant-y. The funny thing is that I can’t bring myself to fully hate it because it’s still CWACOM. Since it’s on Netflix now (along with the original movie!) I might watch an episode now and then out of morbid curiousity. (Sorry my first post in like 2 years had to be this one )

Well it takes the continuity mostly from another point of view, as much as crazy it can sound or see, it explains when it needs some things from the movie (like a different yet way emotional form of narrating when Fran gave him his lab coat; and even, incredibly, how and why exactly Flint ended up creating the and in which time before the movie the series are located). And yes, I agree with the thing of their personalities and how effed out are (Flint being from naive to idiot for example, Brent from idiot to braindead, etc.), but also they pretty much took a lot of stuff out the original artbooks for a few several things like to show some characters that couldn't fit in the original movie, some ideas that became different like Earl being a teacher, and also the stuff for the landscapes, the buildings (most remarkable the version of the cannery they used for the series which is my favorite version honestly) and the island in general. I saw the entire series on YouTube (because I don't even live in the US and don't have Boomerang) and in my opinion it ends up to be worthy, pretty much just narrated from another point of view; and for me it's a guilty pleasure as well, besides, who knew Shelbourne could have a son lol (there's a hint further in the series about why Gil isn't in the first movie nor mentioned anywhere, and I even had a draft to talk about that but oh well maybe in another moment because I still need to talk about that point so much for God's sake).
