Goal here is to talk about how freakin feminist Sam and her story are. Has anyone else noticed this?? I need feminism because when men call themselves a nerd he's admired, but when woman do the same, we are apparently being fake and confused. Don't hide yourself.

I did notice actually. Somebody posted something on Tumblr about feminism and Cloudy because somebody had the gall to say it wasn't very feminist because the movie had a mostly male cast and male protagonist.... basically it was on argument on WHY the characters had to be the way they were. How Sam ever-so-slyly destructed the idea in popular culture where women had to be and act a certain way. How the female characters who were in the movie were super cool. And Flint himself isn't exactly a "manly man". So yeah...

Well, we've got a female character who's not exclusively sexualized, gets character development, and gets positive reinforcement for being who she wanted to be in the first place(that is, nerdy). Sounds feminist to me! (Now, I'll never say no to more female representation, but if what we DO get is well-written/realistic, then I won't complain.)
