Any thoughts about it and how it influenced the film?

I love that book so much! It was always my favorite when I was little. A lot of reviews I've read say that the movie is not very true to the book, but I think that Chris and Phil got it down pretty well. They've taken a little bedtime story for the two kids in the book and given it so much more depth, and the never forgot about the memorable scenes like the giant pancake covering the school and the jell-o dome at sunset.

There is no doubt that this was one of my favorite books as a child. A CHILD, as in before I ever knew that there would be a movie.
...If i had found out about a CWACOM movie back then, I wouldve.. uh... probably explode with joy..
......JUST SAYING. c:

Actually, I didn't read the book until 6th grade, a year before the movie trailer even came out. I had stitches and was sitting in for P.E., so instead, they had me research a certain sport and write about it. I was in the library, researching basketball, when the 3rd grade teacher and the class came in. She started reading them Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. I listened and rather enjoyed the book, but didn't think much of it. And when I saw the movie trailer, I didn't even recognize the title. Don't I horribly fail that way?

when i was little, THAT BOOK WAS THE FIRST BOOK I READ IN MY WHOOOOOOLE LIFE!
REALLY!
I loved it so much that I stole it from the library! But then I had to return it...
Then when I saw the movie, I reconized my favorite picture was a CUTE scene: The Jell-O Dome! I wanted the book again, but I'm in 7th grade. They wouldn't have the book at the library at my middle school. Then I visited my old elementry school and stole it....again....and I still have it........*forces a smile*

Sorry for double posting, but my 7th grade reading teacher, Mr. Barksdale, saw how much I loved the book and the movie and also saw WHY i loved the movie so he got me its sequel, Pickles to Pittsburg! And I still have it!

That's cool, Jell-o! As for the book, I rather liked it. Never got my hands on the sequel though. Won't make much of a difference though, since the movie sequel is an original idea.

I actually first read it in 3rd grade, while waiting for something. I really, really liked it and I thought that this might make a cool movie.

Well, you were right! I still wonder what an animated version of just the book would be though (i.e, just the words of the book).

Maybe someone will make a pure version of the book.

Well, I figured someone would split the movie to satisfy everyone; one half that deals specifically with the book(it'd be short), and one that dealt specifically with the characters(it'd have to cut in right before the shoots off, to cut off the halves. I think about things like this too much, don't I?
