This is quite late but whatever (I just remembered to talk about it here), have anyone seen Into The Spider-Verse? I absolutely loved it, it's amazing in every sense of the word. I've got to be fully honest here but Miles' relationship with his dad Jefferson feels like the matured version of Earl and Cal's (not to say that Earl and Jeff both looks alike too much and they're both casually cops lmao) and sometimes I can't unsee that. Oh and before I go

Oh hey, I've seen it too! =D It's great. And I didn't catch that relationship parallel... but it makes sense. And I didn't spot the , either - but I should have! |D

The more I watch it the more I love it and I need a freaking crossover right now
I did at the end of the battle at the collider and felt proud as I was looking all the way for references

I might request a friend or two to write one - not getting bit by any prompts for this crossover right now, but I do have an AO3 account: Autistic_Ace

I've been having ideas for a crossover for a long time already (even before watching the actual movie) but I haven't found a way to make it work out properly. I have slices and fragments that I have no clue on how to tie them all up.
Actually I uploaded the story in a first moment, but then decided to unpublish it as my ideas were (and still are) an actual mess.

Maybe write up a document with your favorite prompts?
Then just push pieces around from there.
(On FFNet, or elsewhere, though?)

I saw like the first ten minutes of it and it wasn't my cup of tea. I don't like superhero movies and found Miles kind of insufferably whiny and aloof as seen in the scene where his father drives him to school. He just seemed kind of uncaring and disrespectful compared to Flint, who at least cares about his dad and wishes to be close with him and makes up for his mistakes. Miles pushes his father away for no reason, hates him and would rather be with his immoral uncle. I don't know if Miles eventually apologized, got better and made up for his mistakes, though. Has he has always been whiny even in the comics?

Has he has always been whiny even in the comics? 1) Miles doesn't hates his dad at all, Jefferson gets to embarrass him sometimes and Miles doesn't understands until some point of the movie that he's just doing everything to be a better person. 2) Deal with a new school is hard and awkward as you start again. He was in a public school at first shown, then he got accepted into Visions academy. He mentioned he didn't like it because everyone just felt too elitist for his taste and he missed his friends from public school. 3) Nobody knew that Aaron was an actual supervillain (duh), besides he was shown to be a supportive uncle and someone who loved his art, something Miles really didn't feel from his dad. 4) Yes he did change a lot throughout the movie and you really should watch it before ranting. 5) Heard he was different in the comics compared to the movie and that the actual movie fixed him a lot. Can't recall the problems people had asides the fact he's not Peter Parker.

About the uncle thing, from research I did, I heard he and Miles like to vandalize and that's what I was complaining about, Miles's uncle was influencing him to vandalize/graffiti which was also the reason that caused Miles to clash with his father. I didn't know he was like supernaturally bad as well.

And as I said, to Miles, Aaron showed him more support to him than Jefferson seemed to do, and he indirectly admitted that in one part knowing how Miles had a soft spot for him and was more open to talk about everything to Aaron.

That doesn't change the fact that he was corrupting Miles and making him be a bad person. That's one of the problems I have with Spider Verse is that Miles is letting himself be corrupted by his immoral uncle. Compare him to Flint, yes he did let himself be corrupted by that stupid mayor breaking into his lab to tell him to make the food bigger but when the mayor wasn't around, you can clearly see that Flint was trying to keep the machine under control, inside, he really wanted to but because of that darn mayor, he was afraid to disappoint him (considering how controlling and abusive the mayor was, he probably would've done something terrible if Flint hadn't followed his orders) so then he argued with Sam and Tim about the food. And after the twister destroyed the town, he was so overcome with remorse that he threw himself away and then came back and saved the town big-time, indicating he really wanted to help the town but the mayor didn't care. All he cared about was himself. I don't know if Miles apologized for vandalizing, I'm assuming that he did or changed in a way considering that a lot of people said he does overcome his flaws? And I don't know if Aaron was so abusive and controlling to Miles that he would do something bad to him if he hadn't did graffiti? Was there anywhere in the movie that implied that Aaron was abusive like that?

Aaron wasn't being abusive at all at Miles but the opposite (which I said before, twice), and to answer the other questions: WATCH THE FREAKING MOVIE to understand better what is going on.
