Lem glanced at newcomer, and smiled, "Hey, did you, uh ... fall out of the sky too?" She then returned her attention to the Ratbird struggling in Ace's grasp. It squawked and squirmed and looked as if it was going to bite Ace's fingers off if she didn't drop it. "I don't think they're naturally born with two sets of wings," Lem replied, raising an intrigued eyebrow.

Cloudyfan walked over to Ace and noticed the odd Ratbird, saying "I agree with Lem, this Ratbirds is very different."
Kevin, however, just tried to hide himself from the other Ratbird incase it attacks him.

Ace nodded slowly. "Yeah... I think this one... is, like, Mutant or something..." she said, exaiminging the creature further.
It was the same size as a regular Ratbird, and from the lighting its fur appeared to be a sickly green-brown, with black markings. Its eyes were different from other Ratbirds, almost like an insect's compound eyes. There were numerous tears in its large ears that stood straight up like a rabbit's, and in its beaks were several small fangs that it was trying to use to bite the girl holding it. Ace looked at its tail. Halfway up it, the tail split, ending in a fork. And of course, there were the wings. There were a pair of regular sized ones coming from its rump area, but there were also a smaller pairs coming from its shoulder, which flapped mercilessly. Both wings were a neon green, with purple acents.
"...yeah, there's something wrong with this one," Ace concluded.

Lem glanced towards where the noise came from, wondering if yet another person had fallen victim to this fast spreading sky-falling disease. "Huh? Who's there?" She asked no-one in particular, before looking back the enraged Ratbird. "Well, any natural mutation would just be a different colouration of the wings or markings, like with Graham or Kevin. This guy looks like he's been genetically mutated, or exposed to radiation or ... something!" Graham observed the squirming Ratbird and rolled his eyes, before squawking indigently at it.

A rustling came from behind and a meek "Hello? Is anyone out there?"

So I guess we can join at any time? Well okay...: Victoria walks around the corner too see the situation that is going on. She doesn't really know EVERYTHING that happened but gets it in a nutshell....sort of. Anyway she asks: Is vhills or Flint around? She looks in all directions and randomly runs over to what she thinks is them....it might just be...she can't really see far away since her glasses were in her pocket and she didn't know. She stops running and squints. Thinking: Is it them? She is holding her lockett between her fingers like she does when she is thinking about Flint. Thinking: Oh...whatever! I will just have to find out.

Ace glanced towards the new voices she was hearing. "Dang, it's like everyone's coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden..." she muttered, before looking back at the Ratbird in her hand, "Hmm... yeah, I don't think this could just happen normally, either. I wonder if there's like, any nuclear waste sites nearby. More often than not, those'll get you some Mutants." She shrugged slightly, and placed the Mutant ratbird on her shoulder, "Ah well, I think I'll keep him around. Who knows, maybe he has something to do with what's causing the other ratbirds to freak." The disturbed creature let out a screeching noise, before snapping its sharp beak at Graham.

Anslee looked at the disgusting, mutated ratbird and shrieked. "Okay, something really weird is going on. What could have caused......that? It's so disgusting. And yet---I can't help but feel sorry for the poor thing. We've got to find out what's happening." She continued walking with the rest of the group, looking around warily as if another freaky ratbird were about to jump out of nowhere. As she walked, not paying mush attention to where she was placing her feet, her foot caught on a bush she hadn't noticed and tripped, landing on her side. Suddenly, two ratbirds exploded from the bush she'd just tripped over. They squawked loudly at her, but instead of flying away, they landed near her face. Anslee got a better look at the two ratbirds. One was a pure, snowy white, and the other was the color of charcoal. But the thing about them was that the white one had green, blue, and purple markings all over her body, and her wings had extravagant designs on them. The black one, presumably her brother, had a red underbelly and red wings, and tan swirly markings on his haunches. They both had fur sticking up on their heads in a mohawk style. The two strange ratbirds stared at her for a moment, then, seeing that she meant no harm, began inspecting her. The charcoal one tore a piece off of her shirt and swallowed it, only to choke it back up a moment later. The white one leaped onto her back and walked across it, then sat for a moment and preened her wings. Anslee chuckled. These guys were sorta cute. Slowly, as to not alarm them, she reached out and petted the ratbirds. They squawked at her in warning, then decided it was fine and let her stroke their fur. Carefully, she rose to her feet again and the two unique ratbirds clambered onto her shoulders. Then, they curled up next to each other and fell asleep on the spot. Excited at have befriending the two creatures, Anslee hurried to catch up with everyone.

Hellavet, lost and confused of her sudden new surroundings, walked toward the distant voices. Suddenly, a mutant ratbird, much like the one Ace had described, flew straight at Hellavet and began to peck at her skin. "AH! Leave me alone!" she shrieked, "I thought you guys were nice!" She ran for what seemed like forever, until she finally came to view of Ace and the rest of the group. "Help!" Hellavet screamed, unsure of what was going on (and far less lucky than Anslee)

Lem rubbed her head in a confused fashion. Was it just her, or had the group suddenly expanded? She greeted the newer members in her usual fashion: A lopsided grin and a general "Hey -insert name here-!"
As the group proceeded deeper into the Swamp, the Ratbirds became unusually quiet, except for Ace's mutant, who squawked, flapped, shrieked and snarled at anything that even dared to breathe. Graham folded his arms and regarded the mutant with an annoyed gaze, before fluttering over to Anslee to inspect the new arrivals. They were very pretty, to say the least. Graham was not the most polite of Ratbirds, hence his unusual behaviour towards the mutant, but Lem had attempted to teach him some general manners, and now he was showing off in front of Anslee and her two new companions. Lem rolled her eyes.
"I'm a bit concerned about this, guys." Lem muttered, "This is the Ratbirds natural habitat, at least it has been ever since they were introduced here. If they've all flown the coop, so to speak," She grinned at her little pun, "There must be something seriously wrong."

Cloudyfan, continuing to follow the group, said "I agree Lem. Something must be wrong here. At least, I think there is since Kevin's shaking scared a bit and that's usually not good."

Lem shook her head, narrowly missing another mud wallow. "We should keep on the loo-" She was cut off as an ear splitting, bone rattling roar exploded through the Swamp. The Ratbirds shrieked in terror and dove into their owner's jackets or pockets or any other kind of small, dark, secluded place that happened to be about them. Even Anslee's Ratbird seemed a little rattled by the noise, and stopped squawking momentarily. Lem glanced around, wide-eyed, and slightly excited, even though she knew that was a stupid way to be feeling. "That sounded like a beast of gargantum size!" She squealed, jumping from foot to foot, "Maybe a Dinosaur was preserved here for millions of years. Perhaps it's a Carcharodontosaurus!" She stopped after surveying the looks of utter disbelief from her companions. "Well... I guess it could just be a really big Alligator, but come on! Let's go look!" Before anyone could stop her, she dashed off towards the direction of the sound, Graham squawking in protest from inside her jacket pocket.
